Considering Doing Your Christmas Shopping Online?

June 1st, 2008

About 4 years ago - after an exhausting (and generally fruitless) day shopping for Christmas gifts - I finally made myself a promise.

And it was this - to try and do as much shopping for Christmas gifts as possible online, from the comfort of my own home.

And boy am I glad I did that. Sure there have been a few hair-raising situations like the year nothing turned up till a few days before Christmas (I was sweating then - but it was my own fault for ordering late!). But overall, there is nothing nicer than sitting at my computer one evening, with a nice cup of tea, the heating on, a bit of music, and browsing through websites just like this one.

You can add good sites to your favourites, it’s easy to shop around, there’s loads of information around, there are no queues, no waiting, no getting elbowed, no carrying heavy bags around, no getting cold or wet.

If you haven’t tried it yet I would strongly recommend it. Now over 90% of my Christmas gifts are bought online and it’s just the easiest way I’ve found of doing things.

Have you made yourself the promise yet?!

Why You Need To Come Back Often

May 25th, 2008

This site is a work in progress. We’re working hard to update, expand and add to it all the time and as mentioned in the introductory article a short while ago we are going to be updating as often as daily as the Christmas season really starts to take off.

Because of this, new reviews and articles will be constantly added - so if you’re still looking for ideas I suggest to continue coming back at least weekly if not every day.

If you’re tech-savvy, we have an RSS feed which will alert you whenever we add a new article without you having to keep on coming back to check.

Also, please bear in mind the interactive nature of this site - visitors just like you are able to add comments and reviews to anything on this site so over time the reviews will alter based on “customer feedback”.

So in short, basically please make sure you keep on coming back or you may well miss an ideal Christmas gift for one of your loved ones. And if there’s anything you’d like us to feature that we haven’t - again, please get in contact via the “comments” form provded at the bottom of this article.

Christmas Gift Help Is At Hand

May 18th, 2008

Whilst Christmas is many people’s favourite time of year, doing your Christmas shopping and getting all those Christmas gifts can be a real pain.

By mid November the shopping areas in towns and cities are swelling with people and if you’re unlucky enough to leave your shopping until December it can be like a prison riot with people, mess and products everywhere. Not my idea of fun.

Add to that the stress of choosing suitable gifts at a reasonable price that your loved ones will cherish and it’s a wonder we manage it each year without a nervous breakdown :-)

The thinking behind this site - Christmas Gifts Help - is a simple one. We don’t sell anything here so there’s no pressure on you to buy anything or on us to tell you something is great when it stinks just because its our job.

Instead, we’ll do our best here to list, reveal and review as many Christmas gift ideas and Christas gift suppliers as possible - and provide you with links to the best ones we find.

In that way, you can start your Christmas gift shopping in as easy a way as possible - by browing our reviews for suggestions before, if you like an idea, clicking the link to go to the website that actually sells it.

But we’re also hoping you’ll be willing to contribute. You can leave a “comment” at the bottom of any article on this site - so please let us know if you have any questions or opinions on any of the products we feature here. You can even use the “review” function at the bottom of the comments area to rate a product that you already own.

By doing this we will be building one of the most useful, fair and informative Christmas gift sites online.

Over the next few months we’ll be updating this site on a weekly basis - adding new articles on general Christmas tips and advice. Then at around September/October time as Christmas shopping really starts in earnest we’ll be bringing you review after review and aim to add new articles every single day at that point right up until Christmas. That should keep us busy ;-)

So welcome aboard, come back often, get involved and enjoy yourself!
